Find a snack in the river

Old Man Friendship looks around at all the waste in the river.  He is deeply saddened.  You suggest to him that maybe some of it is edible.  Old Man Friendship becomes excited at the prospect of recycling the rubbish into something useful, maybe even edible!

Armed with a trashbag, Old Man Friendship hastily dives into the thick emerald waters, picking up every foreign object he can find.  He can decide what's useful after the eco-friendly swim.  However, his collection is interrupted after finding two obviously noteworthy treasures.

After emerging from the viscous waters, Old Man friendship learns that he has found a bottle of brand name flea shampoo and what appears to be a sloppy joe in a properly sealed sandwich bag.  After marveling over the quality sealing work done on the bag, he looks around and wonders how these golden finds can be used to help people.  After all, he's everybody's buddy!  His thoughts are again interrupted by a distinct growling noise from not too far away.

Old Man Friendship spots a particularly hungry and flea-ridden woodland creature.  He reckons if he had to speculate, this vermin's name is "Mother Squirrel".   Odd name for a boy, he thinks, but as he always says, a squirrel in need is a squirrel, indeed.  Suddenly, Old Man Friendship is reminded of another person who could use his help.

His swimming mate from earlier looks a little itchy, himself.  And the poor man probably could use a snack, too.  Suddenly, Old Man Friendship feels what he calls a "grumble in [his] tumble".  The sloppy joe is looking even more appetizing than when he first found it.  No, he thinks.  The others need help.  The only problem is both Mother Squirrel and the swimming mate could benefit from either of the treasures, if not both.

How should Old Man Friendship use his resources?

  1. OMF's swimming mate is looking a bit rancid! Use the shampoo to wash off all that grime!

Split the sloppy joe with Mama Squirrel, 50/50, just like real friends.

Having done not one, but two good deeds, it's time to slake OMF's hunger with the sloppy joe.
