About Magical Friendship Adventure!

NOTE: Magical Frienship Adventure is on hiatus because it was too weird for most people who read ABA.  I hope one day I can bring it back.  Old Man Friendship's story is just dying to get told.

About MFA
MFA is the you-choose-the-adventure comic I'll be making until you or I get sick of it.  Like the works on MS Paint Adventures, it is reader-driven.  What this means is you can suggest what action the main character, Old Man Friendship, will take next.

"Aren't you just copying MS Paint Adventures?"
Nope.  I am paying homage to one of my favorite influences.  Van Gogh recreated the works of Millet in his own style all the time, so suck it.  Ahem.  The primary difference between this story and those in MS Paint Adventures is the point of view.  MS Paint Adventures progresses in the style of a text-based video game, and the characters are more like extensions of you (like in a video game).  Magical Friendship Adventure unfolds in third-person perspective, but acknowledges your existence in the story (example: your intrusion into OMF's home made him forget what he was about to do).  Think of it like a reality simulation where you are filming and helping a 104 year-old man help others to the best of his ability.  You can suggest that he does something, but he might mishear you or become disoriented and do something completely different.

How to post suggestions
First, the literal answer.  Below each post is a comment box, and this is where you should post any suggestions.  I suggest posting anonymously, just to keep me from associating your suggestion with anything I know about you, such as inside jokes. Having your suggestion be funny to me anonymously is the best way to make sure it is funny to other people.

Here's how I use suggestions.  I have something of a vision for direction with MFA.  Where you come in is setting up a venue for the scenario that I want to play out.  Often times, I'll pick the most simply-worded suggestions because they are least likely to impose a character development onto Old Man Friendship. That's not to say you shouldn't be absurd in your suggestions.  Be as effed up or as sensical as you want, but remember that absurdity and cleverness can coincide.

I hope you enjoy what is sure to be a magical friendship adventure, full of all three of those things!

  1. Old Man Friendship was about to go out and get more Shampoo-- the anti-flea kind he loves so much that keeps his coat shiny and smooth; and itch resistant too!
